Mount Helena Primary School can be found in the eastern reaches of the Darling Ranges. We have a current student population of approximately 140 students and look forward to welcoming new families to our community.
Our classroom teachers are highly dedicated professionals who are committed to providing a stimulating and academically challenging learning program, reflecting the WA Curriculum. Classroom teachers guide our students using our Positive Behaviour Expectation Matix, where we guide students to be kind, respectful, responsible and active learners. These are embedded in our Positive Behaviour Policy. Our welcoming and positive school culture allows new students to transition easily into their new school environment.
With specialised teachers in the areas of Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education and Science, students are afforded many opportunities to develop their skills in all academic areas. Our classroom teachers support our students with learning Auslan as a part of the language program.
We offer our classes Kindy, Pre-primary and split/combined classes for Years 1-6, We also manage the enrolment for the Eastern Hills Community Kindy, which is linked to our school.
There is a great sense of community within the school, with many parents returning to the school after having attended as students themselves. This multi-generational link is an element we are proud of as a school community. We enjoy great support from our P&C Committee and our School Council. We also value the Rotary Club of Mundaring volunteers, who support reading in the school.
To support our positive school culture, we have picturesque grounds with an exciting 'nature garden' play area along with a covered frog pond, for our younger students to encourage imaginative play.
In 2023 we opened our brand new, purpose-built Early Childhood Centre, incluidng an interactive and imaginative playground. There are certainly lots of play options within the school.
Through Busy-Bees and a supportive P&C, throughout 2025, we will continue to develop our play spaces and learning environments as we strive to provide our students with an educational, interactive and inviting school to be at.
