Ms Sue Pinakis is the Music Specialist Teacher at Mount Helena Primary School. Ms Pinakis has a talent and love for music and develops the musical abilities of our students from Year 1 to Year 6 through the classroom music program. The students learn music for enjoyment through singing and playing a variety of instruments.
Ms Pinakis leads our School-based Choir of Year 4-6 students, and in 2024 and 2025 the choir performed at the Western Australian Massed Choir Festival (MCF). This has been an exciting event for our students and community. We always look forward their performances at our special events, including our ANZAC Service and end of year awards presentations.
As a Music specialiast school we offer students in Year 5 and 6 the opportunity to develop their love for instrumental music. This year, successful students were offered the opportunity through the IMSS (Instrumental Music School Service) Program, to receive tuition for clarinet or percussion. These students are amazing. The students’ success is attributed to their own dedication to rehearsal and to the talented music teachers who support them.
