Health

The health program is taught by classroom teachers from Kindergarten through to Year 6. We use a range of programs to support students to become resilient, proactive and respectful students. 

 

Protective Behaviours

This program is endorsed by the Department of Education and forms a vital partof the Health Curriculum. It is also mandated for all Western Australian schools. 

 

The key messages of the program are:

  1. We all have the right to feel safe at all times
  2. We can talk with someone about anything no matter what it is. 

The key concespts covered are:

  1. Early waning signs (Recognising specific internal physical and emotional sensrations)
  2. Safety (recognising safety and knowing rights)
  3. Networks (knowing how to ask for help and who to ask)

SDERA (School Drug Education and Road Aware) Challenges and Choices program covers the following focus areas from Kindergarten to Year 6:

  1. Resilience and wellbeing
  2. Drug education
  3. Passenger safety
  4. Pedestrian safety
  5. Safety on wheels
