Mount Helena Primary School is nestled in the eastern reaches of the picturesque Darling Ranges, offering a welcoming and inclusive environment for approximately 140 students. We are proud to be a community-focused school and look forward to welcoming new families into our vibrant learning community.
Our dedicated classroom teachers deliver engaging and academically rigorous programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. Using our Positive Behaviour Expectation Matrix, students are guided to be kind, respectful, responsible, and active learners—values that are embedded in our Positive Behaviour Policy. This supportive framework, combined with our warm school culture, ensures that new students transition smoothly into their learning environment.
Students benefit from specialist instruction in Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, and Science, providing rich opportunities to explore and develop skills across all learning areas. In addition, our classroom teachers support students in learning Auslan, our chosen language program, fostering communication and inclusivity.
We offer classes from Kindergarten and Pre-primary through to split/combined classes for Years 1–6. We also manage enrolments for the Eastern Hills Community Kindergarten, which is closely linked to our school and shares our values and commitment to early childhood education.
A strong sense of community is at the heart of Mount Helena Primary School. Many families have multi-generational ties to the school, with parents returning as caregivers after attending as students themselves. We are proud of this legacy and grateful for the ongoing support from our P&C Committee, School Council, and volunteers from the Rotary Club of Mundaring, who generously assist with reading programs.
Our school grounds are designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Younger students enjoy imaginative play in our nature garden and covered frog pond, while our purpose-built Early Childhood Centre, opened in 2023, features an interactive playground that supports exploration and learning through play.
During 2025, we are excited to continue enhancing our play spaces and learning environments through the support of Busy Bees and our dedicated P&C. Together, we strive to provide an educational, interactive, and inviting school experience for every child.
